Study trip of European science journalists

On September 23 – 27, 2014, 26 science journalists from Austria, Denmark, Germany, France, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Slovenia, Spain and Switzerland arrived at Moscow to participate in a Russian study trip. It was organized as a part of the All Russia Science Festival and the EU-Russia Science Year.

The organizers were the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, All Russia Science Festival, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Institute of Biomedical Problems RAS, Space Research Institute RAS, Vavilov Institute of General Genetics RAS, Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna, Association of Science Writers and Journalists Intellect and European Union of Science Journalists’ Associations (EUSJA).

The participants of the study trip had the opportunity to meet Sergey Salikhov, Director of the Department of Science and Technology at the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University, Co-Chair of All Russia Science Festival, Professor Victor Sadovnichy, Chair of the Public Council under the Ministry of education and Science RF, Vice-Rector of Moscow State University, Professor Alexey Khohlov, Vice-President of RAS, Director of the Institute for Space Research RAS, Professor Lev Zeleny, Director of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, Professor Victor Matveev, Director of Vavilov Institute of General Genetics RAS, Professor Nicolay Yankovsky and other outstanding Russian scientists. European journalists visited the department on Space Monitoring of SINP MSU, Moscow State University Supercomputing Center, Department of Psychology of MSU, Institute of Biomedical Problems RAS, Institute of Space Research RAS, Vavilov Institute of General Genetics RAS, Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna under Moscow and other scientific centers. They received answers to their numerous questions regarding the situation of the Russian science and scientific cooperation with European countries.
