In accordance with paragraph 211 of the «Action Plan for Holding the Year of Science between Russia and EU in the Russian Federation in 2014», the Russian Foundation for Humanities took part in the event titled «The V All-Spanish Guidance Conference on the Russian language». The conference dedicated to the 215th birthday anniversary of A. Pushkin on the subject of «The state and prospects of the methods of teaching Russian as a foreign language in the third Millennium», was held May 30th to June 1st, 2014 in Santa Susanna, a suburban place of Barcelona.
The conference was organized by the Centre of the Russian Language and Culture named after A. Pushkin in Barcelona and the «Russian World» Foundation with the support of the Russian Embassy in Spain, the Russian Consulate General in Barcelona, the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Madrid and the Coordination Council of the Russian Compatriots in Spain.
Its participants included the Moscow State University named after M. Lomonosov, the State Institute of the Russian Language named after A. Pushkin, the Institute of Russian Language and Culture named after M. Lomonosov, the Russian Foundation for Humanities and House of the Russian Expatriate Community named after A. Solzhenitsyn.
Yu. Vorotnikov, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Foundation for Humanities, delivered a speech announcing the Foundation’s extended support to scientific research projects in the Russian philology and granted a diploma of the Foundation Foreign Expert to Marc Ruiz-Zorrilla Cruzante, Doctor of Philology of the University of Barcelona. Within the period of the conference, Yu. Vorotnikov has also held talks with the representatives of the University of Barcelona about prospects of cooperation in the area of studying the Russian language in Spain. A preliminary agreement was reached on the prospects of development of such cooperation.
