18.06.2014 - 22.06.2014 | Arkhangelsk
From 18 to 22 June 2014, a conference was held in Arkhangelsk, entitled “Reserve adaptation possibilities and compensatory reactions of people working in the Arctic”. The conference was organised by the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Physiology of Natural Adaptations, Ural Branch, Russian Academy of Sciences and the Arkhangelsk branch of the Pavlov Physiological Society.
The conference was attended by 181 participants from 13 cities in Russia and Finland.
The latest information was presented about the role of an extracellular pool containing a variety of components (receptors, ligands, immunoglobulins, cytokines, catecholamines, lipoproteins, hormones) in the processes of adaptation, the development of compensatory reactions and regulation of homeostasis. The solution proposed by the conference for tackling the issue of systemic, multi-profile, environmental and social regeneration of the North is to create identical multi-profile expedition teams, which will work in rotation across the Russian Federation’s Arctic territory.
