GSMA Mobile World Congress 2014, the most important congress for IT-sector representatives, mobile operators, mobile content producers and businessmen, took place in Fira Gran Via, Barcelona (Spain) on February 24-27. More than 70.000 experts from all over the world participated in the Congress.
The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation presented scientific projects of the leading Russian universities in the area of Information and Telecommunication Technologies, including software, intelligent systems, network solutions, decision making support systems, geo- information systems, information protection, processing, transfer and storage technologies, Internet and Multimedia technologies, Information and Communication Technologies in Education and Medicine, E-Government and Information Society Technologies, mobile solutions and telecommunications.
The delegation was formed by representatives of 32 organizations, including both the rectors of the universities and leading researchers and young scientists. The delegation was headed by Alexey Antropov, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, and Andrey Lyshenko, Head of the Information and Communication Technologies Office. The delegation took an active part in the business programme of the Congress, formal receptions, bilateral meetings with foreign partners.
As a result, the delegation managed to establish relations with the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. The Rector of the University and the Heads of the Scientific Research and International Departments met and an agreement on co-researches in priority sectors was reached.
Inspite of the busy schedule, the Minister of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation N. Nikiforov and the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Spain Yu. Korchagin visited the stand of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
