In accordance with paragraph 216 of the «Action Plan for Holding the Year of Science between Russia and EU in the Russian Federation in 2014», the Russian Foundation for Humanities has announced and arranged international contests in 2014. This is a part of the scientific research program titled «ERA.Net RUS Plus». Together with the Community of Baltic Organizations for the Science Financing of the European Consortium (BONUS), the Academy of Finland (AF), the German Research Community (DFG), the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS, France), the Foundation «House of Sciences for the Man» (FMSH, France) and the Research Council of Norway they form a strong partnership.

During this ‘Year of Science Russia – EU’, the Foundation has financed 24 projects, with the participation of more than 240 scientists, including 123 scientists from the European Union countries and 123 Russian scientists from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Petrozavodsk, Blagoveshchensk, representing the leading academic and university centres of Russia. Their projects cover a wide range of subjects, such as: analysis of the political, legal and economic reforms in Russia; the challenges of running a foreign business in this country; the migratory processes in Europe; the impact of climate change on the economy and the environment; the studies of the archaic and new cultures, of the musical and graphic arts and the architecture of Eurasia; the history of the Russian Francophonie of the XVIII - XX centuries; the research and study of the collective consciousness, age characteristics and some others.
