The IX Kazan Venture Fair was opened on April 24, 2014 in Kazan. The event was organized by the Russian Venture Capital Association and the Investment and Venture Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The event was attended by over a thousand professionals from all over the world. Among them were representatives of Russian and foreign venture capital foundations, private investors and large corporations. Small and medium-sized innovative enterprises had an opportunity to present their projects to investors and to establish direct contacts.
At the opening of the Fair Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, noted the importance of the event and wished success to the participants: "Kazan Venture Fair is a great event where we can share experience and see a lot of new and interesting things." The modern model of innovative development of different countries was discussed at the plenary meeting of the Venture Fair.
One of the significant events of Kazan Venture Fair was the international conference "Partnership for the clusters development" organized by the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. It was attended by representatives of the European Union, as well as employees of embassies and trade missions of the Russian Federation abroad.
On 23-25 April, the Delegation of the European Union to the Russian Federation participated in the International Clustering & Technology Matchmaking event, co-organised by the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia, the international Technopolicy Network, and the Ministry of Economy of Tatarstan as part of the large-scale Kazan Venture Fair in the Russian Republic of Tatarstan, one of the most active and advanced Russian regions in research and innovation
Ivan Bortnik, the Executive director of the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises made a presentation. He considered the Russian and foreign experience of regional clusters as a tool for improving the competitiveness of the region, as well as the interaction of government, business and science within the framework of the cluster.
In the framework of the IX Kazan Venture Fair was an exhibition of innovative projects in which Russian companies presented their business projects to the participants of the event.
At the end of the fair the winners of the 10th All-Russian Youth Scientific and Technical Conference "IDEL-10", accredited by the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises as the final of the "UMNIK" program, were awarded.
